From the 5-8 June, I was at NUS Eusoff Hall, participating in Singapore Model United Nations (SMUN) 2007, with Mel, Shihui, Gha, Peixin, Bingxin, Huijun, Gerard, Jem, Andrew etc. NJ people! Part of the Historical General Assembly, Mel and I represented the Federal Republic of Germany, discussing about the crisis of Vietnam's invasion of Kampuchea!
However, despite how fun the debate was, with the whole Soviet bloc walking out and then gracing the front page of the UN Torch (a newsletter), the most fun event was the starting of the FAM! The Food Aligned Movement for people who kept munching on snacks and thinking about food almost all the time! Consisting of delegates from Angola (Shihui, Peixin), United Arab Emirates (Bryan!), Italy (Dear Jerrick), Kenya (Victor), Venezuela (Sophia) and of course Mel and I. We went out of the conference to the toilet, but soon met up with each other to steal GUMMY SWEETS (Haribo) before entering the discussion room again. And of course, we went to eat supper together, tea break together etc. FAM is so superb.
UAE is wonderful! Cheryl from Poland too! Mel, them and I had a mugging session together late at night, while the rest were 'Polar Bear', which we joined later till 2 am.
There were loads of funny characters like Myanmar, Sri Lanka and more, which made our sessions so happening.
SMUN was wonderful, despite inevitable hiccups, so I guess this must mean I need to study harder, so my results are good enough that its safe to go next year. Maybe to NTU MUN, or HMUN (I hope!)
